DVExperts' investigation and analysis philosophy is founded in fundamental principles borne out by years of successful investigation, testing and outcomes. DVE believes firmly in the motto ‘failure to search is failure to find’ and as such will carry out first hand inspection of sites (no matter where, or how long ago the incident was); inspection of evidence and exemplar vehicle or products. DVE ‘digs deeper’ to ensure relevant information and evidence is identified. Where ever warranted physical testing and/or computer modelling will be carried out to help shed further insight to incident circumstances. DVE also carries out research to further support findings for it various investigations and cases. While the cost of any undertaking is clearly important, DVE’s first priority is to provide the best quality and valued service to its clients, be they large or small. DVExperts method of in-depth investigations are robust and combine a three-pronged approach developed by Dr Rechnitzer as published in the paper “THE ROLE OF IN-DEPTH INVESTIGATIONS IN INJURY RESEARCH AND PREVENTION ” Method for in-depth investigations A very effective and powerful method for investigation of incidents in regard to the injury process, is the use of a three pronged strategy, which enables a very clear and robust understanding of “what went wrong”; how the injuries resulted; and principles for countermeasure development. This methodology is based on combining: (i) the insight gained from the in-depth investigation and testing; (ii) a critical examination of the design criteria and performance standards that the item must comply with, in the context of physics and engineering principles; (iii) combined with a review of the available research literature. Recognising that performance is the deterministic outcome of the regulation-design-manufacture environment and the laws of physics and engineering, this methodology therefore does not require large sample sizes needed for statistical power to determine correlations or to gain an understanding. The methodology is very direct and economical, enabling strategic assessment and homing-in on significant problem areas from the investigation of individual or small groups of similar incidents. The linking of these in-depth findings with appropriate epidemiological studies helps to form a robust basis for countermeasure development and implementation.”
Failure Analysis Mechanical, Structural & Process Systems/Product LiabilityDVExperts personnel are highly experienced and qualified engineers and specialists who have carried out many investigations into failures of mechanicals systems, structures and components of all kinds. Through the use of detailed investigation, analysis testing and determination, DVExperts personnel have demonstrated formidable ability to determine causes of failures, and where needed rectification and risk reduction strategies . Examples are many, and range from structural and mechanical failures of plant and equipment, seatbelt failures, hydraulic equipment failures, tyre failures, airbag deployment or non deployment, elevating work platform failures;
