Modelling & SimulationDVE has full collision reconstruction and simulation capabilities. Using HVE or PC-Crash reconstruction software, our experts can model crash velocity and vehicle trajectories by applying basic principles of physics. Results can be provided in tabular or graphical format for various applications, including presentations in court proceedings. Using the sophisticated MADYMO and LSDYNA computer packages, our experts can: - model human movement and injuries in crashes
- calculate forces, acceleration, vehicle and occupant kinematics during a crash
- assess injury severity
- etc.
MADYMODVExperts provides unique services with respect to MADYMO. Although originally developed for studying occupant behaviour during vehicle crashes, MADYMO has a flexible code that can be used for modelling and analysing various collisions. It is applicable to vehicle crashworthiness, crash victim safety, vehicle dynamics, and accident reconstruction involving many other vehicles such as trains, aeroplanes, motorcycles, bicycles and pedestrians. The MADYMO program has been extensively validated against numerous laboratory crash tests world wide using crash test dummies and cadavers, and against real world crashes. MADYMO uses laboratory validated computer multi-body simulated crash test dummies, so that various impact scenarios can be modelled rapidly. The simulated crash test dummies are fully articulated and have surfaces that reproduce the impact dynamics of a real crash test dummy. The likelihood of injury for the head, neck legs and thorax is established by monitoring the accelerations and deflections of the body parts during the simulation and comparing to research that has conducted impact and stress tests on cadavers to find parameter ranges likely to cause injury. Some of the MADYMO computer simulations conducted include: - truck underrun barrier modelling and design
- go-cart racing accident investigation
- modelling of P&O truck shield protection system
- side impact modelling and investigations
- ATV rollover accident modelling and analysis
- roadside barrier impact simulation
- jockey barrier impacts
Computer Animation"A picture paints a thousand words." DVExperts have the capability to display our findings using computer animation techniques. These high impact visual presentations are an excellent tool for showing exactly what happened in a given scenario, particularly when presenting in court. Animations can be viewed in real time or slow motion and from various perspectives.
